Old Jalopy

This morning while taking a ride on the bus

We went past this really huge car lot

I saw one of those old 1930 jalopies

And immediately my mind drifted to thought



I've always wanted to ride in one of those old cars

To me,it looks like it would be lots of fun

But it dawned on me that you wouldn't be with me



And suddenly,it lost is appeal,hun



So many things I wanted to do,that I knew I'd do solo

But now I only want to do things that you and I share

What else is there for me to do but wait and bide my time

I swear I'll make our wait worthwhile,I love you so, my dear
